Born in 1960 I was early influenced by the artwork of the EC Comics legends when they were first re-issued by East Coast Comix. I stumbled on the reprint of the last issue of Tales From the Crypt in a small antique store called the Buffalo Shop in Madison Wisconsin whose owner had a thing for old comics [his shop is now the well-known Capitol City Comics]. That same day I also purchased a copy of Spain's underground comic Insect Fear [okay, being eleven at the time I asked my older sister to buy this one for me.] Already a reader of MAD magazine, this was the start of a lasting interest in the horror and science fiction comics of the '50's. As you'll see from my artwork pages I have many pastiche covers and retro-looking items along with the paintings and sketches. In the late '90's I had the pleasure of illustrating the inside pages of what became Johnny Craig's final stab at horror comics [cover of issue #3 of Tomb Tales]. Since then I've been quite busy with a career in graphic arts and raising a son.
I hope you enjoy this gallery. Since I have thousands of pieces of artwork, I may never be able to show them all. Write me for commissions if you are looking for something custom or for a gift for a collector. Home
